Arrived
at the Point around 4pm on the day before the contest, to find it lucky to be
breaking at around one-foot, if at all.
Freezing
wind.
Day One underway with a 2 - 4 foot
swell off the Point.
Still had heaps of South
in it, but it was wrapping aroound the Point, giving competitors some extra-long
faces to work with.
Twenty-eight heats contested.

Day Two
Conditions have improved vastly (weather-wise).
Very
little wind and nice smooth faces to work with.
Unfortunately,
the swell has dropped quite considerably.
Occasional
3 -4 foot face sneaks through, but mostly competitors are forced to perform on
1 - 2 foot waves.
Twenty-eight heats / semis
again today.

FINALS DAY
Ran through
the last of the Semis, then it was onto the Finals
Wave-wise,
the day started very small, but soon turned into a real cracker

Thanks
has to go to the two boof-headed free surfers who couldn't stay with the rest
of the pack, but had to paddle into the middle of the contest area. Good one you
Morons.
With the exception of the aforementioned
idiots, the three days went off in a typical Aloha manner
Lots
