There's probably no such thing as the Perfect Surf Video (10/10). Endless Summer comes close I suppose, but this little Aussie contribution comes pretty-damn close too.
It primarily features Ray Gleave and Matt Kay, but has a host of other people and some very cool surfing. Even chuck in a bit of contest surfing for us "wish we were's" out there.
The Soundtrack is by a couple of talented Aussie singers/songwriters, and is advertised as "The Best Original Soundtrack Since MORNING OF THE EARTH", which is a pretty bold statement. I found myself concentrating on the surfing to the extent that the Soundtrack was just some background music. But from what I remember of it, it was pretty good also.

This is one of the first movies to feature the re-emergence of longboarding in Australia and looks at the historical aspects of the sport in a documentary style.
Not only shot in Australia, but also in Hawaii and Bali, the movie highlights the re-birth of longboarding Down Under.
Some people may find the production a little "amateur-ish", but it's still a good example of modern longboarding.

At the start of BLAZING LONGBOARDS (The Late) Chris Bystrom sits in front of a roaring fire stoking it with something like lighter fluid. He jokes with the audience by saying that if they paid good money to watch this movie then they were sadly ripped off. It was, of course, a joke, as the movie itself was a classic.
Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said for this one. I don't know whether it was just my copy, but the sound is abysmal and the vision looks like it has been grossly over-exposed. Too much time is spent dwelling on one person at a time. It’s all very well watching the artistry of Ray Gleave or Terry Sims; but not for ten straight minutes. If you still want to watch it, borrow a mate’s copy.
