- ARRRRRRRR me harties
- Let
me tell you a tale - A tale of the Sea
- Twas
at 6½ bells on the XVII day of the XI month in the year MMIX
- We
came ashore after dropping anchor in the safe harbour of Big Park in the Province
of Warrilla
- Was a light breeze that be blowin'
- And
the lumps on the ocean, although they be small, were suitable to be ridden by
those surf craft
- Twas a day to celebrate
the Annual Pieces of 8 Surfriding Contest
- There
be but 3 Divisions to compete in - they bein' the 8-foot, the 70's Single-Fin
and the Fish
- Around 40 surfers turned up
for another day of wenching and debauchery (alias lip smacks and floaters)
- By
8½ bells the wind had changed direction and twas tugging at the yard-arm
from a Sou-Easterly direction
- As the breeze
became stiffer and a lot cooler, the lumps on the ocean turned to mush
- The
FINALS were held in wind-swept chop, but held they were, and winners are grinners
- Although
this has always been a fairly low-key event, it was great to see a few new faces
doing battle for the wood
- Great day overall
