Let me tell you a tale - A tale of the Sea
Twas at 6½ bells on the XVII day of the XI month in the year MMIX
We came ashore after dropping anchor in the safe harbour of Big Park in the Province of Warrilla
Was a light breeze that be blowin'
And the lumps on the ocean, although they be small, were suitable to be ridden by those surf craft
Twas a day to celebrate the Annual Pieces of 8 Surfriding Contest
There be but 3 Divisions to compete in - they bein' the 8-foot, the 70's Single-Fin and the Fish
Around 40 surfers turned up for another day of wenching and debauchery (alias lip smacks and floaters)
By 8½ bells the wind had changed direction and twas tugging at the yard-arm from a Sou-Easterly direction
As the breeze became stiffer and a lot cooler, the lumps on the ocean turned to mush
The FINALS were held in wind-swept chop, but held they were, and winners are grinners
Although this has always been a fairly low-key event, it was great to see a few new faces doing battle for the wood
